Press Release/April 24, 2021
Officials from the Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) and House of Representatives led by Assistant Regional Director Paula Paz M. Sydiongco and 2nd District Congressman Juan Fidel Felipe F. Nograles yesterday oversaw the groundbreaking of the Northern Luzon Regional Hospital (NTRH) in Barangay San Jose, Montalban, Rizal.
The “Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital” is a 2-storey level 2 hospital with 200-bed capacity and will be constructed in 10,000 square meter lot purchased by the local government of Montalban.
Assistant Regional Director Sydiongco emphasized the importance of the health facility as it will provide the needed health care and it will augment the scarcity of health in the province of Rizal.
An initial allocation of P135 million for the first phase of the project that will include the out-patient department, emergency room and the main lobby will be used to start the construction on August 2021 and to be completed on August 2022.
The signing of the development plan and unveiling of the perspective plan was also witnessed by Rep. Michael “Mikee” Romero (One Pacman Partylist), DOH Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Leopoldo J. Vega, Rizal Provincial DOH Team Leader Gerardo G. Mejorada and officials from the provincial government and local government of Montalban, Rizal.
The Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital will be the first DOH hospital in the province and the 5th apex hospital of the region that will be established under the tenure and leadership of Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo.
The NTRH is an initiative project of Congressman Nograles through House Bill 6524 (An Act Establishing Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital in Montalban) with the support of the local government of Montalban.
Among the personalities who also extended their support were Senator Bong Go, and Rizal Governor Rebecca Ynares.
