Rizal province will have its own regional hospital soon as plans for the establishment and construction of the health facility which will be known as the “Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital are already finalized.
Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo and 2nd District of Rizal Representative Congressman Juan Fidel Felipe Nograles yesterday led the on-site inspection of the health facility’s location in Barangay San Jose in the town of Rodriguez, Rizal.
The proposed level- II apex hospital will have a 2-storey facility and 200-bed capacity and will be built on a one-hectare lot purchased by the local government of Montalban.
According to Director Janairo, it will have an operational emergency room and out-patient department that will initially operate once the first phase of the project will be completed this year.
“A Covid and non-covid will also be operation within the year to augment the needs of other hospitals in the province.”
“It will also include a dietary, morgue, motorpool, laboratory, x-ray, central supply storage, operating room, delivery room, wards and intensive care units once the hospital is completely refurbished.”
“Two floors of basements will be constructed, one for parking and one will serve as staff quarters,” he added.
The Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital project will be funded by the health department through the Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP) with a total cost of Php839,637,000.00.
The health facility is an initiative of Representative Nograles to provide communities in the province with their health care needs.
Nograles added that the construction of the facility is timely and necessary to augment the shortage of hospitals, especially now that the country is battling the Covid pandemic.
Among the catchment areas of the hospital are communities from Montalban, San Mateo, Rizal and parts of nearby Quezon City and San Jose Del Monte Bulacan.
The formal groundbreaking ceremony of the Northern Tagalog Regional Hospital will be on April 23, 2021.
