Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) continuous its massive swab testing and medical consultation activities for evacuees in various evacuation centers in Rizal province.

The regional office has deployed medical teams compose of nurses and doctors to ensure the health and safety of individuals in evacuation centers.

All evacuees are getting their temperature checked and are being swab if they have symptoms of the Covid virus.

A total of nine evacuation centers have already been visited from November 17-19, 2020, including Eulogio Elementary School Evacuation Center, Burgos Evacuation Center, Aranzazu Covered Court, San Rafael Elementary School Evacuation Center, Kasiglahan Village Senior High School, Kasiglahan Covered Court in Rodriguez, in the town of Rodriguez, Rizal.

And Doña Pepeng Covered Court Evacuation Center, Doña Pepeng Elementary School and Banaba Elementary School in San Mateo, Rizal.

According to Dr. Evamarie Torio, Medical Officer IV, most evacuees are in need of psychological first aid due to exposure to trauma and stressful event that they experienced during the massive flooding that engulfed their towns.

The regional nutrition team and family planning unit also rendered services including health education and promotion activities.

Other evacuation centers in Rizal province will be visited this week for the continuing swab testing to prevent the spread and transmission of Covid-19 virus and ensure the health of evacuees by providing PFA and other medical services.
