The Department of Health- Center for Health (DOH CHD) CaLaBaRZon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) successfully conducted the “Sulong CaLaBaRZon, Sulo ng Kalusugan” held at Lima Park Hotel, Malvar, Batangas, on February 14, 2023.
The First Integrated Regional Awarding recognized the unwavering support and cooperation of National Government Agencies (NGAs), Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), Local Government Units (LGUs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Academic Institutions, and Faith-based Organizations. With the title: Sulong CaLaBaRZon, Sulo ng Kalusugan: First Integrated Regional Awarding and Recognition,” DOH Calabarzon, together with its partners, highlights the vital role of organizations and people’s determination to soar high [sulong], act as one and be the guiding light [or sulo] in bringing integrated, quality healthcare services to the people.
In hr keynote address, Undersecretary Lilibeth C. David lauded the LGUs and partner agencies for their steadfast support and contributions to implementing health programs that will open opportunities to improve service delivery to the public.
“Today, as we recognize the participation of different government and private agencies, I hope it opens its opportunity for us to keep improving our service delivery to our fellow country. The COVID-19 pandemic has strained our healthcare system and economy. Yet, our collective efforts have allowed us to re-build stronger and diverse networks to promote, restore and maintain health,” Undersecretary David said.
Batangas Province was awarded as the Province with Highest Overall Vaccination Coverage based on December 31, 2022, COVID19 Vaccination Accomplishments with (96.55%); while the Cities with Highest Overall Vaccination Coverage were awarded to Tagaytay City (156.20%), Tanauan City (136.92%), Batangas City (120.43%).
Municipalities with the Highest Overall Vaccination Coverage were: Mendez (134.91%), Carmona (127.48%), and Naic (114.86%).
The Regional Office has also given a Certificate of Recognition as Valuable Partner to several Government Agencies and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) for their continued support and cooperation in the government’s COVID-19 vaccination and other health programs.
Special awards were also given to Cavite Province (6.6%) as the top-performing province during the End of Year Immunization Catch-Up Awards (EYCI) Campaign from November to December 2022. Bacoor City (20.7%, Lucena City (12.0%), and Calaca City (8.9%) were the cities with the highest vaccination coverage. Lobo (16.2%), Alfonso (15.8%), and Panukulan (15.6%) were the municipalities with Highest Vaccination Coverage.
63 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) also received a certificate of recognition for their untiring support and contributions during the COVID-19 vaccinations.
The Provinces of Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, and the City of Lucena were recognized for achieving 100% in Local Health Systems Maturity Level Service Delivery 3 - Preparatory Level (Health Promotion Campaign).
The Province of Cavite and the Municipality of Carmona are recipients of the Special Awards for Non-UHC Implementing Sites initiating health promotion policies and programs for Healthy Communities.
