The Department of Health (DOH) - CalaBaRZon (Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, Quezon) and the City Government of Bacoor formally signed the implementation of the “5-Year Development Plan 2020-2025” for the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital.

“The development plan will serve as a guide in preparing the future expansion of STRH to become a reliable regional providing every citizen the highest possible quality of health care that is accessible, efficient, equitably distributed, adequately funded, fairly financed, and appropriately used by an informed and empowered public as the first step to promote the Universal health care and achieve the national dream of “Walang Pilipinong Maiiwan”. And we will be implementing this with the coordination and the support of the City of Bacoor, Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo stated in his message.

“As a health and medical institution for the disadvantaged and an excellent provider of care for the critically-ill patients, STRH has initiated the desire to deliver health and medical care that are responsive to the needs of the population in line with the demands of the modern times.”

“With the 5-year development plan, we aim to position STRH in one of the centers of excellence in the region delivering medical services from a highly skilled and stable workforce and superior health care service for the public at affordable cost,” he emphasized.

“And eventually, magiging isang specialized medical center sya and also evolved into a regional training and teaching hospital complete with a research and development unit to conduct research into improved service delivery for the implementation of technologies that are cost effective.”

The resources required to execute the strategies for the 5-year development project n is estimated at P500M. STRH will be developed from its present 65-bed capacity level 1 to a 200-bed capacity level 2 as stated in its regional hospital roadmap.

At present, STRH is designated as the vaccination site for the Province of Cavite together with the General Emilio Aguinaldo memorial Hospital (GEAMH), Ospital ng Imus (ONI), and the De La Salle University Medical Center for the coming vaccination rollout by the government.

Dr. Ruby Ephraim M. Rubiano, STRH Chief of Hospital has initiated reforms and spearheaded the accomplishments in the expansion of the hospitals medical and health services.

Through his leadership, he established the following services TeleMedicine and TeleDentistry, Women and Child Protection Desk, STRH Command Center for Patient Referral, Mother and Baby Friendly Hospital Unit,  provision of ICU and Respiratory Unit, opening of Outpatient Clinic during the Covid 19 pandemic and opening of the vaccination center, expansion and opening of the clinical laboratory and ongoing construction of the molecular laboratory, worked for the approval of STRH plantilla positions and implementing the “NO REFUSAL POLICY”.

He also effected the establishment of a Malasakit Center for STRH and prepared the Five Year STRH Development Plan.

The plan will prepare STRH for the challenges of the future while ensuring a coordinated direction towards the needs and desires of the people of CALABARZON.
