The Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) yesterday turned-over another set of land ambulances to hospitals and rural health units located in remote areas of the region for Covid 19 response and rescue.
Among the recipients were Alabat Island District Hospital in Quezon; San Jose RHU, Mataas na Kahoy RHU in Batangas; Malagasang 2 BHS in Cavite; Victoria RHU in Laguna and Ternate RHU in Cavite.
“We have to ensure that every rural health unit and government hospital in the region have one land ambulance to provide emergency service and transfer patient from one health facility to another to maintain the continuity of medical care. Kailangang fully equipped at me mga lifesaving equipment na nakalagay including communication device for the management and care of the patient,” Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo stated during the turn-over ceremony held at the regional office in Project 4, Quezon City on September 28, 2020.
Each land ambulance comes with medical supplies and equipment needed for emergency including automatic external defibrillator, nebulizer, portable suction machine, examining light, aneroid sphygmomanometer, folding stretcher, scoop stretcher, heavy duty stethoscope, and oxygen cylinder.
“With all these land ambulances in place, we can expedite our Covid response in the region. Mas mabilis na ang pagresponde at pagdadala ng mga covid patients sa ating mga health facilities,” he added.
CALABARZON has a total of 37,424 covid cases as of September 27, 2020. There are 19,521 recoveries recorded and 881 deaths. Active cases are at 17,022.
Laguna tops the province with the highest number of cases with 11,897, followed by Cavite with 10,213, Rizal with 6,979, Batangas – 6,540 and Quezon – 1,705.
One LED TV set complete with Health Education and Communication (IEC) materials, including information and updates on the COVID-19 and other health programs of DOH were also given each to Malagasang 2 BHS and Alabat Island District Hospital for their information dissemination campaign.

Representatives from the Malagasang 2 BHS and Alabat Island District Hospital receives their one LED TV set each complete with Health Education and Communication (IEC) materials, including information and updates on the COVID-19 and other health programs of DOH for their information dissemination campaign.
