Department of Health (DOH) - CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo on Friday announced a temporary physical closure of the regional office from July 27-31, 2020 due to the seven staff confirmed positive for COVID-19 after a swab test was conducted in all its employees last Monday.

“We have decided to temporarily close the office to give time for an office-wide cleaning and conduct disinfection activity in all its premises,” he stated.

“Close contacts of those who have been found to be positive of the virus will undergo strict quarantine and isolation as per requirement to prevent its further spread. These measures shall be employed to ensure the health and safety of the employees and the public as well,” he emphasized.

Among the seven confirmed cases, six are still active cases.

According to Janairo, all official communications shall be made through the DOH-CALABARZON official website at “All staff will be on a Work-from-Hone (WFH) basis to continuously provide the necessary services needed.”

He also reiterated the three most important health habit that each person must religiously follow, that is social distancing, wearing a face mask and proper hand washing. “Kailangang gawin na natin itong mainstream or normal behavior dahil itong mga ito ang makakapagbigay ng proteksyon at magliligtas sa atin laban sa anumang sakit.”

The DOH-CALABARZON Regional Office is located at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center Compound in Project 4, Quezon City. Its shall re-open and resume its regular operations on August 3, 2020.
