PRESS RELEASE/04 JULY 2020

Department of Health (DOH) - CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) gave out 10 more land ambulances to health facilities in the region to further strengthen its response to the present COVID-10 crisis and other emergency situations during trauma, crisis and disaster.

“My goal is to equipped every public health facility with one land ambulance each because it is a necessity and an essential part in the delivery of health care services in the community.

The second batch of 10 land ambulances is part of the 98 units procured by the regional office under the DOH-Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP) to be distributed to various public health facilities.

The DOH-HFEP upgrades the capabilities of government health facilities as well as providing training to health professionals to improve the access of people to quality health care.

According to Janairo each ambulance is supplied with medical equipment necessary for emergency medical personnel to respond to medical emergency including automatic external defibrillator, nebulizer, portable suction machine, examining light, aneroid sphygmomanometer, folding stretcher, scoop stretcher, heavy duty stethoscope, and oxygen cylinder.

Among the recipients of the brand new land ambulances are Pagamutan bayan ng Dasma, General Mariano Alvarez RHU, Ospital ng Tagaytay, San Pedro Jose L. Amante Emergency Hospital, Calamba City RHU (Main), Cardona RHU, Mabini RHU, Sariaya RHU, Quezon Medical Center, and Unisan Medicare Community Hospital.

The regional Health Education and  Promotion Unit also distributed one LED TV set per recipient hospital for health education purposes.
