DOH-CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) Regional Director together with Congressman Alex L. Advincula, and City Mayor Emmanuel I. Maliksi formally opened the Ospital ng Imus (ONI) to the public located at Malagasang I-G, Imus City, Cavite on Friday, October 12, 2018.  
 
“This health facility will provide enormous benefit to the people of Imus, especially the indigents, senior citizens and other residents needing medical assistance 24/7 including neighboring municipalities,” Director Janairo stated in his message during the opening program.
 
“With this facility in place, our objective of providing medical services including curative, preventive and promotive health care at the local level will gradually be realized,” he added.
 
The Ospital ng Imus is the first public hospital in the 1st District of Imus and a recipient of the DOH-Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP) allocated with a total amount of 170 million pesos, (Php145,000.00 for infrastructure and 25,000,000.00 for medical equipment). The construction begun in 2014. It was completed and officially turned-over to the City Government of Imus by the regional office last April 2018.
 
The ONI is a Php300 million, three-story Level 1 hospital with 130-bed capacity and a floor area of 4,000 square meter with 22 wards and 19 private rooms. It also has five rooms for physicians and rooms for personnel and medical service.
 
ONI can provide major and minor operations and offers ancillary services like x-ray, ultrasound and laboratory. It has a staff of 20 medical doctors and 25 nurses with 15 consultants including specialists who will be available 24/7 to provide treatment and care.
 
Janairo assured residents that the regional office will continue to provide support in order for ONI to become one of the centers of wellness and excellence in the province of Cavite. “This health facility is a very good example of cooperation and teamwork among government organizations. Through commitment and dedication, we can achieve everything for the benefit of the people and the community.”
 
ONI was conceived and initiated by the local government of the 1st District of Imus.
 
It is constructed under the Department of Health’s (DOH) Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) which objective is to upgrade health facilities and provide training to health professionals and improve access of people to quality health care services. It also aims to enhance the delivery of basic, essential, and specialized health services in the community.

DOH-CALABARZON Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo assures the residents more support for the Ospital ng Imus such as the establishment of a Human Milk Bank that can be used by mothers in time of emergencies in his message during the opening and blessing of the health facility on October 12, 2018.
